EASTELL SAYS: Have to say i never agreed
with the appointment of El Tel.He just didn't
seem the long term solution at leeds and after
a great start with impressive wins over Man City
and West Brom the season became a living hell
for the fans with the only thing to shout about
being WE BEAT THE SCUM 1-0. But i hold my hands
up to him with 10 points out of a possible 12
a great atmospheric and commited performance and
a hot prospect in young James Milner, Wayne Rooney
eat your heart out.The January transfer window
a chance for Terry to freshen up the squad we
could be in for a much improved 2003. Jan 2003
MARK BULL SAYS: Peter Ridsdale's and the
Board's decision to appoint Terry Venables as
new manger was and still is fundamentally correct.
The senior management and coaching team of Venables,
Kidd and Eddie Gray is very strong and talented.
The abject performance of the team this season
is due to the combined effect of a number of factors
such as; injuries, the amateurish and cynical
attitude of key players such as Bowyer,Dacourt,
Kewell and Viduka (the sooner Bowyer and Dacourt
leave the better),the straitjacket of the limited
period for transfers and the structural weakness
in the left hand side of the defence which is
undermining the confidence of the whole team.
This weakness was apparent last season and O'Leary
did not have the intelligence and perception to
solve this problem. Selling two key players is
also a factor. The Board need to show some courage
and strength at this time (in other words please
do not act like a normal cowardly and gutless
PLC board)because Terry Venables is still an outstanding
coach. Peter Ridsdale is a talented chairman;he
just needs to be careful about allowing the weakness
of his large ego to override the strength of his
brain power. Dec 2002
MARK COPPERMAN SAYS: He has not been able
to foster a good relationship with his team members
and I feel that the Leeds squad has been demoralized
by the loss of Dave O'Leary and accepting Venables
is not a matter of seconds, but months, or even
years. I'm confident Venables will make it and
push Leeds up. Look at the Man U win! Dec 2002
TONY SAYS: Was Venebles not brought in
to build on the good job that Dave O'Leary had
done or was he actually brought in to change the
whole billboard of the club and rebuild his own
new method like he appears to be doing? I hate
to say it but if something isn't done fast then
he has to go.Nov 2002
MATT BRYAN SAYS: What the **** is going
on? Now we can't even beat Sheffield United in
the league cup! This is nothing short of a disaster
and as I speak we currently ly twelfth in the
league. Some serious questions have to be answered
by both Mr Ridsdale and Mr Vegetables. The thing
that gets my hoot going is that in Vegetables'
after match interviews he is constantly backing
up his players. What he relly needs to do when
the transfer window opens in the new year is to
bring in a few players that will actually look
interested. And who knows? Possibly a couple of
weekends in the reserves could be just the kick
in the backside that the likes of Kewell, Bowyer
(away with the faries), and Viduka need! Something
needs to be don fast. Nov 2002
MIKE MALONEY SAYS: As much as it is an
unpleasant duty, the board must dismiss this cockney
wide boy and reinstate david o leary.we would
not have had a hiding against arsenal and allowed
everton to beat us if he was still in charge i
believe.Buy off his contract and let DOL get on
with iy.Its time to eat humble pie im afraid but
it must be done. Nov 2002
STEVIE SAYS: After the Man U win, this
guy can do pretty well anything! Sept 2002
MATT BRYAN SAYS: Twat! As a life long
Leeds fanatic I cannot believe he has allowed
Robbie Keane to leave the club. Keane left because
of lack of first team action. Lets be honest,
Venables simply didn't rate Keane and Venables
simply dosen't know Keane. First of all a player
of Keane's natural ability should be on any starting
line up every week. Second of all as an honest
pro and as a lad who never gives less than 100%
even when things are going bad (unlike some other
of our strikers who shall remain nameless) he
should have been given a much fairer deal than
the one old potato head has given him. A lot of
people were hurt when Keane walked out on Leeds
but I know for a fact it hurt no one more than
it hurt the lad himself. He is not a gloater but
he knows his own ability and he knew he wasn't
going to portray that with us. My guess is that
Venebles will live to regret the day he let Keane
go. Blunder no.1 so far in his Leeds managerial
career, lets hope there won't be too man! y !
more. Regardless things haven't started too badly
this season so lets see how he plays his cards
and keep our fingers crossed. Sept 2002
LIGHTBOXBOY SAYS: I think it is a match
made in heaven. He has the ability to get the
most from flair and creative players, while gelling
them with more solid experienced players. For
this reason he can turn Elland Road into a home
fortress with goals galore. The major difference
I can envisage is Leeds picking up lots of points
against the top teams. Expect Terry's tactical
nous and skill to defensively combat the top teams
- a side of his management talent that gets missed
amongst his ability to get the best out of good
players. Aug 2002
MICHAEL WOOD SAYS: I have
mixed feelings about the appointment of terry
venables. When he was first appointed i thought
leeds could end up relegated because tel hasn't
done anything(any major trophys). And then when
there was talks of a possible swap Anderton for
Keane i was thinking about not supporting them. Then
came the arrival of paul okon and nick barmby. Some
people say nick is a great player but i personally
think hes crap but well see on that one.Paul well
he got released by middlesbrough so what can i
say.But if you look at it this way both paul and
nick can play more or less anywhere so they are
good cover for injuries.Plus with the new transfer
market i think its a job well done by Mr. Venables.

SKILLMAN SAYS: Frank Sinatra+Dale
Winton=TV Despite his stupidity in letting Rio
go, keeping Lee at the club and overlooking that
King:Kleberson, he should be able to make Viduka,
Woodgate and Kewell into the true players that
they are; not lazy sad excuses for ******* who
just wanders around the pitch, looking at the
sky and dreaming of his next lunch, being an extremely
large pie. THAT MEANS YOU VIDUKA. To conclude
however, the whole TV deal maybe more sinister
then it initially appears, as using such a respectable
manager (even if he tries to sing like franky)
as a stop gap-which is pretty obvious considering
the short contract-should be cancelled. Aug
2002
THE SQUARE BALL SAYS: Ridsdale's
capture of El Tel initially on a two-year contract
caught many people by surprise. This is a good
move for the club and potentially a clever one.
Venables instantly commands a mass of respect
amongst the players. They know they can achieve
with him and will need to be on top of their game
to ensure they don't make up the £15 million income
Leeds need. Venables has been assured Rio will
stay and being a media-friendly guy, he can improve
the image of Leeds in the media. Leeds already
have a strong squad and with a committed experienced
manager such as Venables, there is no reason why
we cannot aim for the top next year. Well done
to the board. The question just remains, if Venables
chooses not to continue after 2 years, who would
come in then? Or might O'Neill come in after one
year? July 2002
