COLMAN MURRAY SAYS: Up until
2 years ago, I lived in Johannesburg and Saturdays
listened to the game on the net broadcast from
Aire. Even managed 10 trips to Elland Road a season.
I was lucky enough to have dinner with Rhuuu and
his agent one night, Lucas if you read this we
were together at a Sports Illustrated dinner @
Sun City, Shoes and Carnell from Bafana were also
there. I am in awe of this man, his status on
the pitch is well documented, but whta he does
for South Africa is understated. He represents
hope and the end to division. This man has no
bitterness, despite what was denied him under
the old regime, even the story of being shot was
told with a smile. Thoughout our dinner, he was
constantly hassled for autographs, photos etc.
It was insane but Rhuu treated each request with
total respect. It was an unforgettable evening
- we chatted for hours and Rhuu made an incredible
impression. For me this man is the standard bearer
for the new SA. Leeds are so lucky to have him,
I would like to see Rhuu's future in the backroom
at Elland Road and also developing Bafana and
ridding the Castle Premiership and SAFA of the
corruption. Laaaaduuuumaaaaaaa. Jan 2005
JACKIE KRISHAN SAYS: This
guy is the greatest defender I've seen ever since
I started following Leeds towards the back end
of the 1994-1995 season. Intensity, integrity
and intelligence are three of the main ingredients
which has made an average defender into a real
world beater. Its true, its damn true!!! Shame
he still hasn't won a trophy as Leeds captain,
but he is still a true champion in my heart. Well
done Lucas. Feb 2004
JACKIE KRISHAN SAYS: In my
opinion, the chief has got to be the greatest
defender to wear the white shirt. I watched Leeds
for almost 10 years now, the chief just epitomises
everything a captain should be. He's even better
than the £30 million tosser who's buggered off
to the red scums accross the pennines. He is a
true Leeds legend, and i hope that he will end
his Leeds career with a trophy for the 2003-2004
season. Long live the chief!!!!! May 2003
REFUGE KHUMALO SAYS: Lucas
is simply the best even here on his country.I
remember the day when the Southafrican national
team had a camp in scottburgh Kwazulu Natal (Durban)for
a game which was to be venued at (kingspark ABSA
stadium).I and my family went there to watch them
training, when they had to leave, I and other supporters
went to them for their autographies but they all
ran away except u Rhuuuu!!who smiled and said"all
of you come i will do it for you".I had photographs
and autography from Lucas Radebe.so what he did
really touched my heart.his actions showed us
an immense love from the man.LONG LIVE RHUUUU.we
love you and wishing you all the best there at
Leeds utd Oct 2002
VIV SAYS: This guy is brilliant.I
just love him to bits. Long may he stay at Leeds.
Every success Lucas. Sept 2002
THE SQUARE BALL SAYS: Hampered
with injuries we haven't seen too much of Lucas
recently. However, he does appear to be recovering
and featured in the World Cup. There isn't too
much time left in Lucas now but on and off the
pitch he leads by example and is a rock. He's
a top bloke and Leeds are fortunate to have players
with his tenacity and integrity at the club. Aug
2002
GEMZY SAYS: Congrats 2 lucas.
he must be so chuffed to have played for his country
in the world cup, especially after his injuries!
well done!! June 2002
JON MULLER SAYS: I think
it's disgusting that Leeds don't allow Lucas to
play for South Africa. ALVIN KOFI says: "Once
again King Lucas is prepared to put club before
Country, this shows how much he loves playing
for The Mighty Whites " This shows how much david
o'leary loves receiving his pay-cheque. In a country
where true poverty is rife, the national soccer
team and it's players provide a hugely important
distraction from the harsh realities of life for
a huge amount of people. Fuck Leeds for taking
that away. Feb 2001
ALVIN KOFI SAYS: Once again
King Lucas is prepared to put club before Country,
this shows how much he loves playing for The Mighty
Whites Jan 2001
PAUL DAVIS SAYS: Lucas could
walk into the first team of any club in the world.
I'm glad he's with us. Jan 2001
MARK SAYS: It is quite sad
to see that with all the hooligan supporters in
english football, teams have decided to start
using players with car hijacking backgrounds.
In my opinion a person with this background should
not be allowed to represent anybody !!!!!! (Ben
says: I'm not sure it's too fair to comment on
any background of Lucas' when we don't know what
life is really like out there. Lucas has done
nothing but good for Leeds in recent years and
you don't get voted FIFA Fair Player of the Year
by being a bad bloke do you?) Jan 2001
