THE SQUARE BALL SAYS: Dubes
is an admirable guy. He stands up for what he
believes in and isn't a bad player either. It
seems he feels his future lies elsewhere and overall
his spell at Leeds hasn't quite worked out for
him. However he is well-liked and even if he were
to leave, he would still be worthy of respect
from all Leeds fans. Aug 2002
TOP LEEDS BLOKE SAYS: LEAVE
THE MAN ALONE!! Dubes went into court and told
the truth, Woody want's to think himself a very
VERY lucky man. Dubes is a cracking player given
half a chance. Keep your head up Dubes, and don't
let the b!!!!!ds get you down. Dec 2001
ALAN FIRTH SAYS: It is totally
incomprehesible to criticise Duberry in the court
case. After all, what did the guy do that was
actually wrong? Come on you narrow-minded moaners!
The guy was in court and he decided to TELL THE
TRUTH. What the hell is wrong with that, in the
circumstances Duberry was in? It's Woodgate that
the 'fans' should be criticising - he was the
one who fouled up. Well done, Michael Duberry
- you put truth and personal integrity first.
Apr 2001
WILLIS SAYS: I'll have to
say about this guy is that anyone who gives up
friend/teammate is man with no honor and cannot
be trusted. I hope after the court case Leeds
dump this pile crap. I mean its pretty obvious...Woodgate
- central defender Duberry - central defender...I
wonder why he's saying the things he's saying
now, especially since Woodgate is so much better
then he is. Mar 2001
ADAM SAYS: i wish people
would lay off him and give him a chance. the games
he's played this season he was quality in and
what a nice guy to drive bowyer and woodgate home
from leeds after theyd been on a night out. he
also appreciates how good a player lee matthews
is so keep it up dubes. Mar 2001
THE STEVESTERBAG SAYS: Out
for a year now. His stay at Leeds has really all
in all been bloody disappointing. He should have
used it to relaunch his career but seemed happy
to sit back until injuries cropped up - and then
got injured himself. Waste of £4.5 mil if
you were to ask me. Nov 2000
DANIEL YOUNG SAYS: Has anyone
noticed how well Dubes had played this season
so far before he got injured? He never had a run
in the team last season but has been a revelation
this season(especially against Milan)He looks
like a different player. Oct 2000
THE SQUARE BALL SAYS: I haven't
heard many people with a good word to say about
Dubes. When I have seen him he's looked a little
clumsy but that's not been often; Dubes has not
asserted himself very well. All he seems to have
been getting up to is messing around in Ayia Napa
(which to be fair I can sympathise with!) and
arsing around with Bowyer and Woodgate. Rumours
link him away and a repeat of this season will
surely be the end for him. Aug 2000
RICHARD (DEVOUT LEEDS IN EXILE)
SAYS: He is a good player - but we haven't
seen a lot of it. It's piss or get off the pot
time. We either play him, and build up his confidence,
or salvage some cash from Charlton Personally,
I wish Alfie was still around, because losing
Dubes and Alfie (and God knows what will happen
in the courts) could leave us very short.
Aug 2000
RICK KITCHENER SAYS: A complete
waste of money buying him from chelsea, he is
just too clumsy and gives away too many free kicks.
SELL HIM TO CHARLTON QUICK BEFORE THEY CHANGE
THEIR MINDS July 2000
KENYAN BOB SAYS: A complete
waste of money and a mistake by DO'L. Dubes came
to Leeds for first team football but hasn't applied
himself well at all. He seems happy to cruise
along and pick up his pay packet. On the occasions
he has played he appears clumsy and a move to
Celtic or Charlton or whereever certainly wouldn't
piss me off. He's also a bad influence on Woodgate,
Bowyer, etc and they don't even need influencing.
June 2000
LOBSTER SAYS: Perverting
the courts of justice? He does those all so nice
interviews for the official publications but is
obviously one of those crook type guys and just
a thug underneath. Still at least he should never
be the victim to being beaten up and so we should
see him fit to play most of the time. March
2000
HAROLD WILSON SAYS: Give
him a break for goodness sake! I remember his
Chelsea debut - cool, confident enough to bring
the ball out of defence, good passing. At the
moment he's simply used as a stopper which isn't
playing to his strengths. Are you listening coaching
staff? Just let him play with the ball at his
feet. Feb 2000
UPTHEPEACOCKS SAYS: Dubes
came to Leeds because of Chelsea's squad system.
At £5 million odd, it is hard to assess
him because he cannot break the King Lucas and
Woody partnership. With injuries and suspensions
his time will come, but at the moment, I can imagine
he's a little pissed off and disillusioned. Still,
we need a squad if we want to compete at the top
and there is no doubt that there is a quality
player inside him.
Dec 99
THE SQUARE BALL SAYS: Let's
just say you wouldn't want to meet him in a dark
alley, that's for sure! Dubes is a Cockney by
birth but seems to be taking to Leeds, like Gazza
to a pint. Signed to get first-team football.
Let's hope he maximises his potential and doesn't
wander off like his ex-Chelsea pal Danny Granville.
